My Favourite Sherlock Quote from Each Episode

A Study in Pink: "Shut up Anderson, you lower the IQ of the entire street."

The Blind Banker: "I'm not Sherlock Holmes." "I don't believe you." "You should, you know. Sherlock Holmes is nothing at all like him. How would you describe me, John? Resourceful? Dynamic? Enigmatic?" "Late."

The Great Game: "Has it occurred to you..." "Probably."

A Scandal in Belgravia: "Punch me in the face." "Punch you?" "Yes, punch me in the face. Didn't you hear me?" "I always hear punch me in the face when you're speaking but it's usually subtext."

The Hounds of Baskerville: "I don't have friends. I've just got one."

The Reichenbach Fall: "You're ordinary. You're on the side of the angels." "I might be on the side of the angels, but don't think for one second that I am one of them."

The Empty Hearse: "Interesting thing a tuxedo. Lends distinction to friends and anonymity to waiters." "John, John! What is it?" "Well, short version: Not. Dead." "Bit mean to spring it on you like that, I know... could have given you a heart attack... probably still will... in my defense it was very funny... okay it's not a great defense."  "Oh no. You're..." "Oh yes." "Oh my God." "Not quite." "You died. You jumped off a roof." "No." "You're dead." "No, I'm quite sure. I checked."

The Sign of Three: "They're right about you. You're a bloody psychopath." "High functioning sociopath. With your number."

His Last Vow: "I'm not a hero, I'm a high functioning sociopath. Merry Christmas!"

Ender's Game

I just finished Ender's Game last night. I probably stayed up too late reading but I don't care. It's a pretty good book. It has a cool plot. I'm going to see the movie. I hope it's good. I like the main actor.

..........I'm really bad at writing reviews. You could just read one on Goodreads or something if you're interested. There's no point in talking about anything other than my opinions.

This is kind of random, but it annoys me when I see a movie before I read the book (if the movie was adapted from a book.) I made an exception for Sherlock because that's kind of different. I saw Life of Pi without reading the book and that was really annoying. I still haven't read the book. That's mostly why I read Ender's Game. my dad wants to see the movie.

Divergent Movie

I hate writing book and movie reviews. So, as usual, this isn't exactly a review, just my thoughts on the movie.

It was good. Not many books are treated well in their movie adaptations. But this movie was done well. It basically stuck to the book, but there were a few changes. None of these changes bothered me, in fact, I think many of them improved the plot.

The actors are great. I was especially impressed by Theo James. Four is a confusing character, and I really did not expect the movie to get him right. But they did. Shailene Woodley was great too. I thought the movie might make her too much like Katniss, but it didn't.

So, pretty much what I have to say is this: I was afraid the movie would be awful, and it wasn't. In fact, it went beyond that. It was so much better than I anticipated.

Myers Briggs Links

I was going through my bookmarks yesterday and I decided to put a list of some of my favourite Myers Briggs stuff. So, here you go:

  • 16 Personalities (I like their type descriptions.)
  • Truity (Technically it costs money but they have some stuff for free. Not only Myers Briggs.)
  • Similar Minds (They lots of stuff other than Myers Briggs. This is where I first took the test.)
  • Type Finder (Just another Myers Briggs site.)
  • Tyoe Logic (Really weird type descriptions.)
  • Human Metrics (This isn't my favourite site, personally, but I'm linking it anyway.)
  • Personality Page (I'm sorry, this website is really confusing. It's really interesting, though, if you can find your way around it.)
  • Sociotype (So, this isn't technically Myers Briggs. I tried looking into Socionics, but I couldn't get my head around it. It seems the same as Myers Briggs, but apparently it's different.)
  • A Little Bit of Personality (I can't remember how I found this blog. It's kind of random.)
  • Oddly Developed Types (This site takes a different approach to Myers Briggs.)

Updates

This post is going to be kind of random. Sorry.

Okay, to start with, I read The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. It's really weird, obviously. I think I liked it better than the first one, actually. I'll try the next one and see if I like it. I really love the quote thingy at the beginning of the second book.

"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."

Right now I'm reading Pretties (The sequel to Uglies). It's okay, but like the first one, it isn't really hat interesting. Actually, the plot is kind of interesting. But the way it's written is not engaging enough. Sorry, I'm not making any sense. Anyway, I'll keep reading the series until I get bored.

I'm going to read Ender's Game after Pretties. I want to read Vampire Academy but it is literally taking forever to arrive at the library. And Cress is taking a long time too.

I'm almost done watching season 3 of Doctor Who. It's continually getting better. I'm way too obsessed with it at the moment. DON'T BLINK.

The Divergent movie comes out soon. I'm going to see it with my dad. I'll post a review after I've seen it.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I watched the movie of The Perks of Being a Wallflower and it was really great. Logan, Emma and Ezra are perfect (Even though Ron and Annabeth are jealous) and it was overall a wonderful adaption of the book. It's now my third favourite book to movie adaptation after Lord of the Rings and Hunger Games. The reason it's so good is possibly because it was directed by the author. I've never heard of that happening before, but it's pretty cool.

My Ten Favourite Villains

I love all these villains for different reasons. Some are super cool, some are interesting and some are not really evil, just misunderstood.

10. Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter
9. Smaug from The Hobbit
8. Luke Castellan from Percy Jackson
7. Valentine Morgenstern from The Mortal Instruments
6. Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles
5. Galbatorix from The Inheritance Cycle
4. Jeanine Mattews from Divergent
3. Gollum from The Lord of the Rings
2. Lord Sunday from Keys to the Kingdom
1. Jim Moriarty from Sherlock

The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Isn't that the weirdest combination of books ever?

Anyway, I finished Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was unsurprisingly really weird. 42 is now my fourth favourite number after 9, 23 and 97.003. I would suggest reading it if you like that kind of humor. It's a book meant for a very specific type of person and if you're not that type of person then you'll probably hate it.

I was going to read Vampire Academy next but it hadn't arrived at the library and I panicked. So I picked up two random books on my "To Be Read" list. One of them was Uglies (which I only just started) and the other one was The Perks of Being a Wallflower (which I read in two days). I don't think I've read any "real world" books for about a year. Since I read Lord of the Rings I've kind of gone on a fantasy and science fiction diet. But The Perks of Being a Wallflower was really good. So if you haven't read it yet because, like me, you find realistic fiction kind of boring, or for some other reason, I suggest you try it out. It surprised me in a good way.

Fandom Chart Thingy

I've done this before, but I decided to do it again in a kind of more complicated way. So, anyway, here it is:
