Random Updates

I finally finished reading the Inheritance Cycle yesterday. I liked all of the books, though I've seen a lot of people saying online that they didn't like them. I don't really understand why, but I'll just ignore that.

I'm watching the second season of the new Doctor Who. It seems to just be getting better and better to me.

This blog has almost 15,000 page views which is weird and kind of scary. When I started it in September I didn't really expect to keep it going, but now here it is. I haven't been posting as much lately because I just joined Tumblr. I'm kind of obsessed with that now.

I'll be reading Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy next. Then I'm going to try Vampire Academy because my friend recommended it, and I'm going to read Cress as soon as it comes at my library.

A Post Where all I do is Confuse You

My blog looks slightly different and weird because I changed the fonts and stuff. I also added a search box which I find awesome. Um, you probably don't care. My brother, who loves computers, was helping me with it and he thinks I shouldn't have the background as black, but I like black. It's one of my four favourite colours. If you care, my other three favourite colours are silver, purple and blue.

My least favourite colours are red, green and pink. Some people find it weird that I have favourite and least favourite colours since I'm colourblind. But, the thing is, I don''t really care about how colours look. Since I can't see them, that doesn't really matter anyway. My favourite colours are my favourite colours either because I like the name, or I like something associated with that colour. Or both.

Speaking of colours, why do Canada and USA spell it differently. It's so confusing. Same with "favourite" and "neighbour" and some other words. I never know which way to spell them. I always spell colour and favourite the Canadian way, but I spell "favor" the American way. I have no idea why. Sometimes I just avoid using those words because I don't know how I'm supposed to spell them.

I used to be good at spelling. Now I pretty much rely on spellcheck to save my life. I just don't feel it's worth the time to try to be perfect at spelling. I'll figure it all out eventually.

This post wasn't really worth your time, was it? To make up for that, here is a picture of a kitten:

Speaking of kittens, my family is thinking of getting one or possibly two. They've agreed that we can name them after fictional characters which is super awesome. Right now we're thinking Sherlock for a boy and Luna for a girl.

Sherlock and Luna would be an... interesting ship. Um, I think I'm going to leave now. Good bye.

The Romione/Harmony Debate: The Full Interview

Here is the full article that I talked about a few days ago where Emma Watson interviews J. K. Rowling.

The Full Interview

As I suspected, J. K. Rowling did not actually say that she regretted pairing Ron and Hermione. While she did say that their may have been problems in their relationship and that there may be chemistry between Harry and Hermione, there was totally no need for everyone to overreact. Never assume anything, people. This interview does not give Harmony shippers any more ammunition than they had before. It's just the musings of an author who has had years to think about her series.

The Romione/Harmony Debate and my Opinions

So, everyone in the Potter fandom is talking about this right now: J. K. Rowling apparently announced in an interview with Emma Watson that she may have regretted pairing Ron and Hermione together and that Hermione and Harry might have been a better pair. Some people are super upset about this and some people are super happy. My opinion? It doesn't matter in the slightest. First of all, the full interview hasn't come out yet, so we don't really know what she really said. I think it comes out tomorrow or the next day but I'm not sure. Here's what everyone is making all the fuss about:

Article #1
Article #2

And here is a random article I found stating that J. K. Rowling is wrong:

Article #3

Stop freaking out people! Just because J. K. Rowling said that she may have regretted putting Hermione and Ron together doesn't mean that the pairing is no longer canon. J. K. Rowling can't change what's in the books. And even if she could, she wouldn't, because much of the story depends on the Romione romance.
Look, I'm sure tons of writers regret some things the wrote in their books. No book is perfect. J. K. Rowling might be right, Ron and Hermione might not have worked out quite so well in real life as it did in the books, but that doesn't matter. It's a book. It's fiction.
Anyway, I have never thought the Romione pairing was perfect. While I ship them as boyfriend/girlfriend, I can't see them getting married and staying together. It would be a difficult relationship. However, Harry and Hermione wouldn't work for the opposite reason. Though I bet their relationship would go quite smoothly (they never really argue), they didn't fall in love. Harry never showed any sign at all in the books of liking Hermione as anything more than a friend, and it seems clear to me that Hermione felt the same way. So Harmony wouldn't have worked with the story. I totally understand people who ship Harmony, but I don't think it would fit the story at all.
But, anyway, none of that matters. What Jo says changes nothing.
Also, don't get mad at J. K. Rowling for stating her opinion. She's not doing this just to "stir up the fandom". Gosh.

Enneagram: My Opinions and Stuff

As you probably know if you have been reading my blog, I am obsessed with Myers Briggs. Enneagram is another personality typing system that is cool, but not quite as cool. There are nine different personality types. I do not claim to be any kind of expert, but here's my take on each of them.

Type 1: These types are perfectionists. They like being good and following rules.

Type 2: These types are obsessed with helping people. They think that spending their entire lives doing things for other people is the whole point of life for some reason.

Type 3: These types like showing off and being famous.

Type 4: These types like to be unique. The love art and emotional stuff and they are kind of obsessed with feeling bad for themselves.

Type 5:These types like to think. They are very rational and they hate people. They think that if the think enough, all the worlds problems will be solved.

Type 6: These types worry a lot.

Type 7: These types  like to jump out of airplanes and go on wild, crazy adventures.

Type 8: These types are jerks and they like to boss people around. They don't like to be controlled, they like to control.

Type 9: These types hate conflict. They want everything to be all happy and full of sunshine.

I am a type 5 wing 4, I think. I mean, I know I'm a type 5 (that is way too obvious), but I'm not sure about the wing 4. Here are a few links to Enneagram stuff if you're interested:

I like Myers Briggs better because it's less confusing and (in my opinion) actually works. Enneagram is a cool idea, I guess, but it doesn't seem reliable to me. Anyway, just my opinion.

I could try typing book characters with Enneagram, but it wouldn't be very accurate. I could also try a MBTI/Enneagram correlation thingy. I'll see if I feel like it. Maybe Enneagram/Hogwarts Houses. Hmm...
