Books that Should be Made into Movies or TV Shows

I personally think that these stories would translate really well into movies or TV shows. There are tons of books that I love that I did not include on this list because I don't think their styles would translate well onto the screen.

The Lunar Chronicles: I think this series would make a good TV show instead of a series of movies due to the large number of characters and the length of the books. I think that the stories in these books would translate well to a TV show format.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the Heroes of Olympus: Yes, I do know that there are two Percy Jackson movies, but everyone in the entire world agrees that they were terrible. You know what? I think that this series should be a TV Show. I think that the series is literally perfect for a TV show format. Each book has tons of mini adventures in it, each of which could be one episode. And each book could be a season. Please, universe. Make this happen.
 
The Kane Chronicles: I think that the Kane Chronicles would make a great TV Show for the same reasons that I think Percy Jackson would.

The Scorpio Races: I think this book would make a great movie.

Legend: There are so many dystopian trilogies out there that are being turned into movies (The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Maze Runner and The 5th Wave). Why not Legend? It's one of my favourite dystopian series.

The Infernal Devices: There is going to be a Mortal Instruments TV Show (dream come true), and I think there should also be an Infernal Devices TV Show.

The Darkest Minds: See Legend. This series is packed with action, and that often translates well to the screen.

Throne of Glass: I think this series would make great movies.

March 2015 Updates

Here is what I've been reading and watching in March:

• The 100 season 2 was the best thing ever. I'm not even exaggerating. I liked season 1, but season 2 was on a whole new level. It had literally everything I want in a TV show. A cool plot? Check. Complex and interesting characters? Check. A diverse cast? Check. The show has gone in such an exciting direction. I can't wait for season 3.
• I am watching Elementary season 3 and I want Moriarty to come back. That is all I have to say about that.
• I am currently watching Torchwood. I'm almost done with season 2. I am enjoying it, and I can officially say that it is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.
• I watched Insurgent. Divergent is not my favourite book series ever, but I do like it. I personally thought the first movie was just okay, and I thought the same of the second movie. There were some good things about it and some bad things. Overall, I would say that, as a movie, Insurgent is about as good as Divergent. However, as an adaptation from the book, Insurgent is much worse than Divergent.
• I read both books in the If I Stay duology by Gayle Forman, If I Stay and Where She Went. I liked both books, but I didn't love either of them. From all the amazing reviews they were getting, I thought that I would like these books better.
• I read Fairest by Marissa Meyer, the prequel to the Lunar Chronicles series. I really enjoyed it, though it wasn't very long, which was a bit disappointing. I really enjoyed reading from the villain's perspective. Now I'm super excited to read Winter.
• I finished the Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken with the final two books Never Fade and In the Afterlight. I enjoyed both, and, overall, I thought the trilogy was great. This science fiction series has an interesting plot and memorable characters. I would definitely recommend it.
• I read Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard because literally everyone else in the world was reading it. I don't understand why everyone loved this book so much. It wasn't that it was bad, it just wasn't as extraordinary as I'd hoped it would be. I'm a bit disappointed, but I plan to read the rest of the books in the series whenever they come out.
• I read The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski, sequel to the Winner's Curse. I enjoyed the Winner's Curse, but this book was incredible. I thought the plot and the writing were so much more interesting than in the first book. I can not wait for the final book in this trilogy to come out.
• I read Shadow Scale by Rachel Hartman, the long awaited sequel to Seraphina, and it was amazing. It's definitely my favourite book published in 2015 so far. I has literally everything I want in a book. Everything in it was amazing!!!

If You Like This Book, You Might Like That Book

I've seen a lot of people doing this around the internet, so I decided to try it out. (Most of these books will be in the fantasy genre because 90% of the books I read are fantasy).

If you like The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, you will probably like Legend by Marie Lu. Both are science fiction trilogies about teenagers who fight against a corrupt government.

If you like the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, then you might like Keys to the Kingdom by Garth Nix. They're both children's fantasy series and they're both really awesome and fast-paced.

If you like the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini, then you might like the Eon Duology by Alison Goodman. They're both epic fantasy series about dragons and magic stuff.

If you like Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, then you might like Sabriel by Garth Nix. They are both epic fantasy series that have awesome female leads (I refuse to use the term "badass female characters") and awesome magical stuff.

If you liked Graceling by Kristin Cashore then you might like the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. Both are epic fantasy series with weird magic and interesting plots.

If you liked the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, then you might like the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. They are both fantasy (Lunar Chronicles is technically science fiction, but it reads like fantasy) and they are both strongly centered around romance.

If you liked Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, then you might like the Lorien Legacies by Pittacus Lore. Both books are science fiction bordering on fantasy. They both include a bunch of kids with different random super powers.

The Deathly Hallows #2

A question that I have asked myself for a while is, if I had the choice, which of the Deathly Hallows would I choose? To tell the truth, I would never really want any of them. I have never wanted to have great power, so the Elder wand really doesn't appeal to me. No one very close to me has died (I'm lucky so far) so I don't have any need for the resurrection stone, and I honestly wouldn't be that into the Invisibility Cloak. I mean, sure, it would be fun to play pranks and walk around without anyone able to see me, but I don't know, there are lots of things I'd much rather have. I guess I'd say that I would pick the Cloak (and not because it's the right choice in the story). I would choose the Cloak because, out of all of them, it seems the most interesting to me.

I read the first two books in the Lunar Chronicles (Cinder and Scarlet) a while ago. I wanted to read Cress as soon as it came out but it took a really long time arriving at the library. The wait was worth it, though. The third book was just as good as the first two. I read it in two days. I went to a book signing with Marissa Meyer recently and got Cinder signed. Um... sorry, that was kind of random. Anyway, I hope movies are made for The Lunar Chronicles. Except I also kind of hope there won't be any movies because they would most likely be totally messed up.

Random Updates

I finally finished reading the Inheritance Cycle yesterday. I liked all of the books, though I've seen a lot of people saying online that they didn't like them. I don't really understand why, but I'll just ignore that.

I'm watching the second season of the new Doctor Who. It seems to just be getting better and better to me.

This blog has almost 15,000 page views which is weird and kind of scary. When I started it in September I didn't really expect to keep it going, but now here it is. I haven't been posting as much lately because I just joined Tumblr. I'm kind of obsessed with that now.

I'll be reading Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy next. Then I'm going to try Vampire Academy because my friend recommended it, and I'm going to read Cress as soon as it comes at my library.

Book Shimmy Results Show

Well, I wanted Clockwork Princess to win best of shelf, but I love Allegiant too. I also wanted Cassandra to win best author but of course it was Veronica. No one competes with Veronica. Allegiant won for most badass hero too. I was rooting for Champion. As for best friendship, I really wanted Ronan and Gansey to win. Of course it had to be America and Marlee. Will and Tessa won for couple of the year. I knew they would. I'm glad Scarlet won for best fantasy (though I would have been happy if The Dream Thieves had won). Divergent won world series champion which is awesome. I don't think anyone is surprised that Allegiant won most crippling ending. I'm very glad the Potterheads won best fandom. Other than Lord of the Rings, it's my favourite. And, finally, I was not surprised to see Catching Fire win best adaption. I agree. It was the second best movie I saw this year (after the Hobbit).

I've only read four of the books on that list. Allegiant, Clockwork Princess, Scarlet and The Elite. However, I am planning on reading Eleanor and Park, The 5th Wave and Fangirl pretty soon. Cinder

I just finished reading a book called Cinder and it's sequel, Scarlet. Cinder is a science fiction version of Cinderella, and Scarlet is a science fiction version of Little Red Riding Hood. The third book in the series, Cress, is coming out in February 2014. I'd like to recommend this series because it's super awesome and Cinder is the coolest cyborg ever.
